
ITS14 - Application Architect, Salesforce

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports state agencies’ business operations through services including IT. This position is in the Agency Services area of DTMB and serves as an IT Application Architect 14 supporting Children Services & State Hospitals IT division. The primary application is the Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS), a case‑management system used by state and tribal Title IV‑E agencies to support child welfare programs. The role requires the technical expert to orchestrate the placement and interaction of application components to meet agency business requirements while satisfying sustainability, cost control, standardization, security, compliance, and strategic alignment needs.
Responsibilities
Act as a technical expert for the CCWIS application, ensuring alignment with business, security, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with at least 21 semester credits in fields such as computer science, data processing, information systems, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics.
Three years of professional experience equivalent to IT Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to Programmer/Analyst P12, OR
Associate’s degree with 16 semester credits and at least two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or IT technician plus four years of professional experience equivalent to IT Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to Programmer/Analyst P12, OR
High school completion with at least three years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or IT technician plus four years of professional experience equivalent to IT Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to Programmer/Analyst P12.
Location and Work Arrangement Lansing, MI. This position requires a hybrid work arrangement involving two days on‑site at the official work location and three days remote per week.
Sign‑On Bonus The position may be eligible for a sign‑on bonus of up to $2,500, payable in two installments: up to $1,250 upon new hire and remainder after a 12‑month probation. The bonus is not applicable to current state employees.
Additional Information DTMB does not participate in STEM‑OPT. DTMB is a Michigan Veteran’s Affairs Agency Gold Level veteran‑friendly employer.
