
Marketing Automation Specialist

Overview
In this hybrid role based at our Chicago Headquarters, the ideal candidate will execute the development and optimization of automated marketing journeys across the member lifecycle. Design and implement multi-step workflows that drive engagement, retention, and conversion. Translate data into personalized, scalable experiences using marketing automation platforms and knowledge of customer behavior to drive targeted and measurable outcomes.
Essential Responsibilities
Design, build, and optimize automated marketing journeys across email and other channels
Develop lifecycle strategies for onboarding, engagement, upsell, and retention
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams such as product owner, email specialist, and audience builder to align journey logic with business goals
Manage segmentation, triggers, and personalization logic using dynamic content and behavioral data
Monitor performance of journeys and automation flows and identify opportunities for improvement through A/B testing and analytics
Ensure data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., CAN‑SPAM, GDPR)
Troubleshoot technical issues related to logic, rendering, and deliverability
Stay current on marketing automation trends, tools, and best practices
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Computer Science, or related field
Minimum 3 years experience in Marketing, Marketing Automation, Journey Building, or related area
Alternative: 6 years experience in Marketing, Marketing Automation, Journey Building, or related area in lieu of education
Compensation & Benefits Typical hiring range: $57,500 – $89,500 annually. Additional compensation: annual performance bonus.
