We’re hiring a VP, Performance Marketing and Media to lead performance media across the Manifest client portfolio. Our ideal candidate has 12+ years of experience leading performance marketing teams and developing effective omnichannel paid media strategies. The Vice President is responsible for the health and the growth of the paid media discipline, leading overall performance, and expanding and evolving our offering around performance media planning, buying, and optimization. This position is a hands-on player-coach role and is ultimately responsible for the day-to-day tactics and strategy being implemented by the team. You’ll work closely with clients and internal teams to develop and oversee strategy, execution, performance, and analysis of our media programs. The VP, Performance Marketing and Media will work closely with and report directly to the SVP, Head of Performance & Data Intelligence. This role is based (hybrid) in NYC or Phoenix, AZ.
Responsibilities
Discipline Leadership
Lead and oversee all performance media planning and buying across digital and traditional media channels to ensure performance meets and exceeds benchmarks, driving a culture of continual analysis, testing, and optimization. Continually assess, innovate, and implement appropriate evolutions to our paid media capabilities, offering and deliverables in order to maintain competitive advantage and drive agency growth. Formulate and execute Performance Media strategies and campaigns and integrate Performance Media thinking and best practices across the agency. Provide media strategy leadership and lead department contributions to new business and incremental organic growth pitches, including conducting competitive research, building sales presentations, recommending proposed services, building staff plans and drafting/approving SOWs. Demonstrate curiosity and commitment to continual learning, expanding marketing prowess across the full suite of Performance Marketing and agency services, tapping in SMEs from other areas where appropriate. Drive department innovation on and contribute to agency intellectual capital with forward-looking points of view on emerging channel strategies, technology trends, and industry innovation. Act as a key strategic partner and media thought leader for premier agency clients and internal leadership. Maintain agency-wide visibility into client performance, providing strategic guidance on escalations, opportunities, and leading annual planning conversations. Maintain an active meeting and travel cadence to support client relationship management, speaking directly to leadership on client calls to provide a partnership lens. Operational Leadership
Design overarching media strategies with clear understanding of scope implications. Develop and standardize performance media operations and processes that can be scaled across accounts to integrate best practices across the agency. This includes continually seeking opportunities to optimize processes and cross-functional collaboration by partnering with other department / account leaders. Participate in leadership/managerial meetings and functions, including financial forecasting, resource projections, and growth strategy. Maintain deep knowledge of client SOWs and manage team resourcing and utilization tracking. Manage media operations and act as the primary point of leadership on pure play paid media accounts, including owning and implementing appropriate processes and communication workflows, managing deliverables and workstreams, etc. Partner closely with Account/Ops and Project Management to align on scoping and resourcing conversations, including ongoing team capacity management. Help design and implement scalable systems and tools (including A.I.) that elevate team efficiency, process automation, and client management, including universal budget trackers and standardized client deliverables. Oversee agency vendor partnerships and contracts. Oversee media workflows and operations. Serve as the unifying leader across search, social, programmatic, and other advertising channels, driving the Performance Team toward shared goals, ensuring that innovative marketing strategies are integrated and cohesive across accounts. Directly manage and mentor multiple performance team members, providing hands-on coaching for career and leadership skills development, as well as clear communication, direction and evaluation. Establish team goals work in collaboration with direct reports on setting goals. Ensures the team collaborates optimally with other departments to drive success for the agency. Requirements

Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, confident narratives for senior client and agency stakeholders across Account, Data & Intelligence, Performance, and Executive teams. Extensive experience (12+ years) with performance media, leading teams of buyers, including a strong foundation of hands-on experience managing media accounts end-to-end, with deep knowledge of media planning tools, DSPs, SEM and paid social media platforms. with proven expertise in planning, buying, and optimization. Experience navigating data ecosystems including 1st-party data, CRM platforms, data providers, and tools, and responsible for relationships with performance vendors. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Can lead, mediate, and de-escalate conflict in real time and across internal and client groups, including senior/executive leaders. Can effectively lead calls and projects Ability to create and implement revenue and growth strategies Prioritizes impact of growth and contraction of portfolio revenue Excellent organizational skills and attention to details, including: Time and team management with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate when appropriate. Ability to function well in a high-paced environment. Highly self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented with a chief-of-staff mentality — able to operate both independently and as a team player as the situation demands. Innovation-minded with a forward-looking perspective on the future of performance marketing, A.I. adoption, and evolving media landscapes. Bachelor\'s degree in Marketing, Advertising, or a related field; SEO familiarity and cross-channel marketing knowledge considered a strong asset. Hybrid 3x week onsite.
