Job Purpose: As Senior Architectural Sales Area Manager you will lead a specialist team that sells and promotes the overall Langley proposition of roofing products, environmental roofing systems, social value, solar PV and technical services to the architectural and wider new-build & refurbishment sectors. You will work with and service the needs of architects, construction developers and building owners across the construction sector, providing technical knowledge and expertise of roofing architectural products with strong relationship-building and sales skills. You will oversee delivery and installation of roofing systems via Approved Contractor partners and ensure design and quality standards are maintained throughout installation and handover. You will develop a pipeline of revenue opportunities and deliver against sales targets per area, continuing to manage the existing New Build pipeline while developing the Architectural Sales pipeline.
Key Accountabilities
Sales Leadership
Define clear performance expectations and conduct regular reviews, underpinned by tailored development and coaching frameworks.
Cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Proactively engage with new and existing clients to expand regional business opportunities through strategic specification sales.
Identify and prioritise market sectors and key specifying Architectural practices to maximise new business potential.
Champion Langley’s SPIRE values whilst encouraging initiative, creativity, and a unified purpose.
Set and enforce the highest standards of professional integrity across your team, including personal conduct, representation, and appropriate use of PPE for all site-based activities.
Commercial Strategy & Execution
Identify key architectural targets and develop strategies to create project opportunities and expand the architectural client base.
Work closely with Approved Contractor partners to ensure projects are tracked, priced, secured and delivered to the required quality and standard.
Technical Engagement and Support
Act as the Architectural teams’ technical lead in flat roofing systems, specification best practices, and supply chain logistics.
Partner with internal design and external technical teams to ensure proposals are compliant, sustainable, and customer-focused.
Deliver technical consultations, CPD events, and design presentations to strengthen the specification pipeline.
Provide guidance on product and system sustainability benefits, accreditations and BREEAM ratings for new construction projects.
Advise Architects on sustainable flat roofing solutions including green, blue and bio-solar roof designs.
Oversee technical delivery of bespoke and compliant specifications and supporting technical drawings, liaising with the Technical Director as needed.
Client & Stakeholder Management
Build and nurture strong relationships with architects, developers, local authorities, main contractors, roofing contractors, and procurement teams.
Navigate complex stakeholder environments with empathy, commercial acumen, and strategic insight.
Ensure the Architectural service consistently reflects the Langley brand and surpasses client expectations.

Qualifications
Degree: Degree, relevant professional qualification or equivalent (desirable).
Experience
Industry: Working in the flat roofing industry with knowledge of primary waterproofing systems.
Specification Sales: Experience in a specification or architectural sales environment with strong relationship management.
Relationship Building: Maintaining and developing customer and contractor relationships.
Specifications and Reports: Developing detailed, compliant designs through specifications and supporting drawings.
Targets and Deadlines: Ability to work to tight deadlines and achieve targets.
Business Development: Plan to generate new architectural business.
Communication Skills: Delivering presentations, staying current with industry changes, cold calling.
Lone Working: Willingness to conduct lone working.
Knowledge
Regulation and Compliance: Building regulations, sustainability standards (BREEAM, CCPI), British Standard Code of Practice, regulatory framework, NFRC developments.
