
Temporary DCTC Project Director

Position Overview
The primary purpose of the position is to provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Defense Civilian Training Corps (DCTC) program. The DCTC Project Director will ensure the program aligns with university objectives and defense training requirements, supervise the DCTC Project Coordinator, manage day‑to‑day operations, and collaborate with key stakeholders to maximize the program’s effectiveness and impact.
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Occasional evenings or weekends may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the DCTC program.
Ensure alignment with university objectives and defense training requirements.
Supervise the DCTC Project Coordinator.
Manage day-to-day operations of the program.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to maximize effectiveness and impact.
Minimum Requirements A Master’s degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Candidates must have at least five years of program management experience, ideally in higher education, defense, military training, or related fields. Proven leadership experience, along with strong strategic planning, communication, and problem‑solving skills, is essential. Proficiency in project management and financial tools, as well as experience in grant writing, management, and budgeting, are required. The role requires demonstrated experience in leading complex programs, supervisory experience, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred candidates will possess a Master’s degree in Education, Business Administration, or a related field. They must have at least seven years of program management experience (PMP preferred), ideally in higher education, defense, military training, or related fields, and meet all minimum qualifications.
Required License or Certification NC Driver’s License.
Remote / Hybrid Work Arrangement This position may be eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. N.C. A&T employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2‑hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
