JOB SUMMARY The Senior Art Director is a creative leader, mentor, and owner of creative excellence at Gratsy. This role is responsible not only for producing exceptional creative work, but for shaping ideas, elevating craft, guiding teams, and connecting creative decisions to business strategy. The Senior Art Director operates as a conceptual powerhouse and cross‑functional partner, leads creative work from kickoff through execution, presents to clients, and may manage and develop less tenured creatives. This role carries accountability for creative quality, consistency, and leadership performance. Responsibilities include and are not limited to the below: ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead concept development from brief through execution Bring original, strategic ideas to brainstorms and pitches Connect creative decisions back to client goals and shopper strategy Execute and oversee high‑level creative across all mediums Ensure visual systems scale across campaigns and channels Maintain a consistently high creative bar across projects Participate in new business pitches Present creative concepts internally and externally Help craft compelling presentation decks that tell a clear story Partner closely with Client Services, Sales, Events, Copy, Production, and more Attend kickoff and cross‑functional status meetings Ensure creative consistency across teams and projects Understand how creative work ties to revenue, scope, timelines, and resource planning Manage time accurately and model strong adoption and operational discipline Mentor less tenured Art Directors and Associate Art Directors Provide clear, constructive feedback Support onboarding and skill development of less tenured creatives May lead and manage direct reports, including: Regular 1:1s Growth conversations Performance feedback Time approval and pay‑for‑performance input Exhibit exemplary alignment with our core values, mission, and vision here at Gratsy Comply with all company policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned EDUCATION & RELATED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred 7+ years of professional experience in a similar role at an agency or experiential marketing firm 1+ year of professional experience in a senior role with mentoring or leadership responsibilities Portfolio required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Advanced conceptual and design expertise Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint Strong presentation and storytelling skills Proven ability to lead without ego and give actionable feedback Comfort with 3D rendering software (preferably Blender), AI software, and other emerging creative tools Shopper marketing and experiential expertise strongly preferred Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify and implement solutions A valid driver’s license and the ability to be covered under Gratsy’s insurance policy are required SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES AND INTERACTIONS WITH OTHERS You may be responsible for the performance and success of direct reports and indirect reports while helping the team continue to grow and scale. You will also interact daily with coworkers, customers, vendors, and the public. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Frequent required tasks include sitting, talking, hearing, and seeing; using hands to touch, grasp, type, enter and locate information on a computer; verifying information visually; presenting information to small or large groups; communicating with customers, vendors, or employees via telephone, in person, or electronic mail. Occasional reaching with hands and arms, walking, and lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds may be required. Hand‑eye coordination is necessary for operating computers and various office equipment. TRAVEL Some domestic travel may occur, up to but not limited to 10% of any given month. WORK SCHEDULE AND LOCATION Enjoy our hybrid onsite environment! This position will be located in the company's headquarters. Team members based out of the Bentonville, AR office will work in‑person at minimum Tuesday through Thursday, and remotely on Monday and Friday, depending on business needs. 401(k) PLAN Eligible employees can voluntarily participate in Gratsy’s 401(k) plan where Gratsy matches employee contributions dollar‑for‑dollar (100%) up to the first 4% of your annual salary.
