You bet on sports every single day. You have opinions about line movement, parlays, player props, and bankroll management. You're already posting about it — maybe a Twitter account with picks, a TikTok breaking down bets, an Instagram page, a Reddit presence. You make content because you can't help it.
We're Layup — a fintech that automatically saves money for sports bettors every time they place a bet. 22,000+ users, backed by the founder of Discover Card, integrated with every major sportsbook. We need someone to own our marketing, help build the CEO's personal brand, and bring a bettor's voice to our product.
This is a startup. You'll wear a lot of hats — social media, video production, email campaigns, landing pages, product feedback. We're not expecting perfection on every front, but we are expecting you to jump in on all of it.
What you'd do:
Plan and run marketing campaigns end-to-end — strategy, creative, execution, measurement
Own Layup's social channels — Twitter/X, TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, Discord
Record, edit, and produce video content — for Layup's channels and the CEO's personal accounts
Help the CEO build his social media presence — film him, coach him on what works, turn conversations and meetings into content
Build and manage email campaigns (drip sequences, announcements, re-engagement)
Create landing pages and assets for campaigns — you don't wait for a designer
Run and optimize paid social when budget allows
Track what's working, kill what's not, double down on what is
Engage with sports betting communities as someone who's already part of them
Bring the bettor's perspective to product decisions — you're not just marketing the product, you're telling us what bettors actually want because you are one
What makes you the right person:
You are obsessed with sports betting. Not casually interested — obsessed
You're already creating your own content and it's good
You can shoot and edit video — comfortable behind and in front of the camera
You can do it all yourself — video production, graphic design, copywriting, email, landing pages
Comfortable with tools like Canva, CapCut, Figma, Mailchimp, or whatever gets the job done
Not afraid of light technical work — updating a webpage, editing copy in a CMS, resizing assets
You have opinions about what sports betting products get right and wrong — and you're not shy about sharing them
You understand what bettors care about because you are one
You're hungry. You want to build something, not maintain something
NYC-based
Nice to have:
Experience building a founder or executive's personal brand on social
SEO knowledge
Experience managing a Discord or Reddit community
Basic analytics chops (GA, social dashboards)
