Job Description Our client is seeking a highly organized and execution-focused

Sr. Events Marketing Specialist

to join the Optum Financial B2B marketing team. In this freelance role, you will support the successful delivery of employer and payer conferences, sponsorship activations, executive forums, and hosted experiences. Working closely with the Marketing Engagement Lead, you will help bring event strategies to life through strong coordination, timeline management, and seamless logistical execution.

This position is ideal for a marketing professional who thrives in fast‑moving environments, understands the details required to execute large‑scale events, and can confidently manage multiple stakeholders, vendors, and deliverables at once.

Key Responsibilities

Support execution of employer and payer events, including conferences, sponsorship activations, and executive forums/experiences

Maintain workback schedules, project timelines, and day‑to‑day status tracking to ensure milestones are met

Coordinate event logistics and vendor requirements, including booth readiness, shipping and returns, fulfillment, and materials management

Track sponsorship fulfillment details such as exhibitor deadlines, required specifications, and asset delivery timelines

Act as the day‑to‑day point of coordination for Sales on assigned events, addressing logistics questions and attendee readiness needs

Assist with speaker and executive logistics for speaking engagements, roundtables, forums, and hosted events

Support attendee readiness communications and onsite coordination, including pre‑event logistics and post‑event shipment follow‑up

Coordinate post‑event closeout activities and ensure smooth handoffs for follow‑up actions and internal reporting

Operate within UHG event governance requirements, including documentation, approvals, and internal process coordination

Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience executing large‑scale or national industry conferences and sponsorship activations. You are comfortable managing booth programs, exhibitor deliverables, logistics, and complex coordination across multiple internal and external partners. You are known for your project management strengths, attention to detail, and ability to keep moving parts organized under tight timelines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting B2B marketing events, conferences, and sponsorship activations

Strong project management and organizational skills

Experience coordinating with vendors, internal stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams

Ability to manage deadlines, logistics, and deliverables across multiple concurrent events

Strong communication skills with a proactive, solutions‑oriented approach

Familiarity with executive event support and attendee experience coordination is a plus
