We’re looking for an SEO Strategist who genuinely loves SEO. Not someone who “does SEO”, but someone who gets genuinely excited about the wins, and genuinely curious about the setbacks. This is not a checklist SEO role. It’s for someone who understands how search is changing, and knows how to turn that into measurable business impact.
You’ll own SEO strategy, execution, and performance across key accounts, working closely with Account Managers, content teams, and leadership to turn search behavior into measurable business impact. This is a hands‑on, strategic role with real influence on how SEO is executed across the agency.
This role is fully remote, with optional access to our riverfront office in Oshkosh, WI. Team members meet in person once a month for collaboration, so applicants must live within 200 miles of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Core Responsibilities
Strategy & Performance
Build and lead SEO strategies that drive measurable business outcomes, not just rankings
Identify where search influences the customer journey across traditional search, AI‑generated results, and discovery platforms
Develop strategies across technical SEO, content, authority, and structured data to improve visibility and performance
Translate performance data into clear insights, actions, and next steps
Stay connected to results and adjust strategy based on real performance, not assumptions
Ownership & Execution
Own SEO performance across assigned accounts from strategy through execution and optimization
Conduct deep analysis across search intent, site structure, indexing, crawlability, and rendering
Execute hands‑on optimizations including on‑page updates, content improvements, and technical enhancements
Partner with content teams to develop search‑driven content strategies aligned to modern search behavior
Drive authority‑building efforts including backlinks, brand signals, and off‑site visibility
Monitor performance regularly and take action quickly when results shift
Innovation & Evolution
Stay ahead of how search is evolving, including AI‑driven results, entity‑based search, and zero‑click behavior
Test new approaches to improve visibility across search engines, answer engines, and emerging platforms
Leverage tools, automation, and APIs to scale insights and execution
Challenge what’s working to uncover better opportunities and stronger performance
Bring forward ideas that push SEO beyond standard approaches
Collaboration & Influence
Partner with Account Managers to align SEO with broader marketing strategy and client goals
Use search insights to influence messaging, content direction, and campaign strategy
Collaborate across teams to ensure SEO is integrated, not siloed
Contribute to client conversations as a strategic voice, not just a channel specialist
Growth & Opportunity
Identify opportunities to expand SEO impact across content, technical improvements, and authority‑building
Surface gaps in current strategies and recommend clear paths forward
Think beyond current scope to drive stronger results for clients

What We’re Looking For:
Experience & Skills
5+ years of SEO experience, ideally in an agency environment.
Deep expertise across technical SEO, on‑page optimization, content strategy, and analytics.
Strong understanding of modern search behavior, including AI‑driven search and evolving SERP features.
Proven ability to drive measurable organic growth tied to business outcomes.
Experience with SEO tools, analytics platforms, and performance reporting.
Ability to translate data into clear insights and direction.
