Customs Entry Writer | Houston, Texas | Salary up to $70,000
Responsible for preparing and submitting accurate customs documentation in compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely clearance of imported goods while maintaining strict adherence to trade compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and transmit customs entries (e.g., consumption entries, ISF filings) via ABI systems
Review commercial documents (invoices, packing lists, bills of lading) for accuracy and compliance
Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
Ensure compliance with CBP regulations and other government agencies (FDA, USDA, etc.)
Calculate duties, tariffs, and applicable fees
Communicate with clients, carriers, and government agencies to resolve clearance issues
Monitor shipment status and proactively address delays or discrepanciesMaintain accurate records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
Stay up to date with changes in trade regulations and compliance standards
Qualifications
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in customs brokerage or freight forwarding
Strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations and HTS classification
Experience using ABI software (e.g., CargoWise, Descartes, or similar)
Understanding of PGA (Participating Government Agency) requirements
