The Political Risk, Credit and Bond (PRCB) Unit at AXA XL provides top‑tier underwriting solutions, valuable risk engineering, and global claims capabilities for Political Risk and Credit insurance, as well as a newly established Commercial Bonding team.
The Commercial Bond team works with large corporations worldwide to deliver commercial bonding solutions. We are seeking a proactive, analytical, and team‑oriented Underwriting Assistant to support this evolving product line as part of the PRCB Middle Office.
What You’ll Be Doing
Support the underwriting staff during the submission process through acquisition and into account maintenance.
Communicate account status and complete outstanding subjectivities with Underwriters and Brokers.
Confirm bond support, execution, and policy processing instructions for new bonds and midterm changes.
Ensure the electronic client and distribution system accurately reflects account status and notes from Underwriters and Brokers.
Coordinate with Producer Administration to appoint new brokers for Commercial Bonds to AXA XL.
Process all bond transactions accurately and timely.
Collaborate with Global Shared Services to ensure the underwriting process is completed within timelines.
Act as a backup for peers and supervisor for submissions, powers‑of‑attorney administration, broker/account clearance, and related filing.
Generate and maintain monthly reports such as bond line sheets, account summary reports, and premium bookings.
Support the Head of Commercial Bond with various reporting requirements.
Assist with account receivable collections when required.
Participate in projects within Global Lines Middle Office as PRCB Bond Subject Matter Expert or on request by the Underwriting team or Global Operations Manager.
Collaborate with peers to develop an understanding of other PRCB product lines.
Manage and prioritize workloads to meet due dates.
You will report to the PRCB Operations Manager.
What You’ll Bring Required Skills And Abilities
Bachelor's degree and two to four years of commercial insurance (Surety, Bonding, or Financial lines) experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to negotiate and effectively communicate a viewpoint.
Proven analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Proven prioritization and time management skills with accurate results.
Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and other IT systems.
Ability to work effectively in a team setting and independently in a fast‑paced environment requiring good judgment.
General interest in the insurance industry and international business affairs.
Strong demonstration of initiative, interpersonal skills, and a professional demeanor.
Client service experience and focus.

The U.S. base salary range for this position is USD
60,600 – 86,200 .
