Director of Benefits
to lead the strategy, design, and administration of enterprise-wide benefit programs. This role will oversee retirement, health & welfare, and wellness programs while ensuring compliance, cost-effectiveness, and a strong employee value proposition. This is a
hybrid position based in Houston, TX (relocation required). What Youll Do: Lead the design, implementation, and administration of comprehensive benefits programs Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and related regulations Manage vendors, brokers, consultants, and external partners Partner with HR leadership to align benefits with total rewards strategy Oversee and develop a high-performing benefits team Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and reporting/ROI metrics Serve as escalation point for complex benefits issues Must-Haves: 10+ years of experience in benefits leadership within a large, complex organization (healthcare or multi-entity preferred) Deep expertise in health & welfare and retirement plans (401k, 403b, pension, non-qualified plans) Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, COBRA, HIPAA, and FMLA Experience managing vendors, brokers, and external partners Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams Experience working with HRIS systems and benefits administration tools Bachelors degree required Nice-to-Haves: Masters degree Certifications such as CEBS or CBP Experience building or enhancing wellness programs Background in large healthcare systems or highly regulated environments
