The Experienced Scientist, Lab Automation & Compound Profiling will support early drug discovery by delivering and optimizing automated laboratory workflows to support high-throughput screening and compound profiling assays. This hands-on role focuses on day-to-day assay execution, automation system operation, and workflow troubleshooting to ensure timely delivery of high-quality data. The scientist will work closely with automation, assay development, informatics, and project teams to enable robust, scalable compound profiling in support of discovery programs. You will be responsible for:

Implementing and supporting automated workflows for high-throughput screening and compound profiling. Operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting laboratory automation platforms (e.g., HighRes, Beckman, Agilent, Thermo) and scheduling software (e.g., Thermo Scientific Momentum, Cellario). Performing routine liquid handler QC, verifying sample tracking integrity, and supporting data quality assessments. Collaborating with informatics and data partners to ensure accurate data capture, metadata management, and downstream analysis. Adapting biochemical and cell-based assays for automated execution, including assay miniaturization and workflow onboarding. Performing assays on automated systems to support SAR generation, screening, and profiling workflows. Troubleshooting assay and workflow issues to minimize downtime and maintain high data quality. Partnering with scientific teams to harmonize profiling workflows and support consistent data delivery at scale. Reviewing and analyzing assay data to identify trends, performance issues, and follow-up needs. Working closely with automation engineers, profiling scientists, and project teams to align execution with discovery timelines. Supporting evaluation and implementation of automation hardware and software in collaboration with vendors and internal partners. Contributing to continuous improvement efforts focused on assay robustness, automation reliability, and operational efficiency. Qualifications / Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biological Sciences, Engineering, or related field is required. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with laboratory automation and/or high-throughput screening in an early drug discovery environment is required. Experience operating robotic liquid handlers and integrated automation systems is required. Familiarity with compound profiling, biochemical assays, and/or cell-based assay execution is required. Strong troubleshooting skills spanning assays, instrumentation, and automated workflows is required. Ability to work optimally in a collaborative, fast-paced laboratory environment while balancing multiple priorities is required. Experience with scheduling software (e.g., Cellario, Thermo Scientific Momentum) is preferred. Exposure to mass spectrometry or safety assay workflows is preferred. Familiarity with Genedata Screener or similar data analysis platforms is preferred. Introductory experience with scripting or automation-adjacent coding (e.g., Python or R) is a plus is preferred.
