Job Summary
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our hematological malignancies registry and coordinating a project to address health disparities across Georgia. This part‑time position offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting‑edge research and improve patient outcomes in hematology and related malignancies.
Responsibilities Registry Management
Data Collection and Entry: Accurately collect, enter, and manage patient data related to hematological and other malignancies in the registry database.
Quality Control: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data through regular quality control checks and audits.
Database Management: Maintain and update the registry database, ensuring data integrity and security.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines, including patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
Project Management
Study Coordination: Coordinate research studies focused on access to breast and cervical cancer screenings for women in rural Georgia and South Carolina.
Protocol Development: Assist in developing research protocols and standard operating procedures, and prepare submissions to the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
Timeline Management: Monitor project timelines and ensure milestones are met according to the study plan.
Research Support
Literature Review: Conduct literature reviews to support ongoing research projects.
Data Analysis: Assist in analyzing registry data to identify trends, patterns, and research opportunities.
Report Generation: Prepare detailed reports and presentations based on registry data for internal and external stakeholders.
Grant Writing: Assist in preparing grant proposals and funding applications to support research initiatives.
Collaboration and Communication
Team Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and data managers.
Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with external partners, including healthcare providers, research institutions, and funding agencies.
Training and Support: Provide training and support to new staff and collaborators on registry database use and related protocols.
Other duties: Perform all other job‑related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited college or university in biology, biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, or a related field, plus experience in research, basic science, or clinical laboratory, particularly clinical research.
OR
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of three years of research and/or clinical experience, with previous supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in clinical research, data management, or registry management, preferably in hematology or oncology.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining high‑quality data standards.
Experience with hematological malignancies or related registries.
Experience with human subjects training in a clinical research setting; experience working with patients in a clinical or research setting.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and critical‑thinking skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
Shift / Salary / Benefits
Part‑time position (0.50 FTE).
Shift: Days, Monday‑Friday.
Pay Band: B8; Salary Minimum: $21.83 per hour.
Salary commensurate with qualifications within the established range.
Recruitment Period: 9/26/24 – Until Filled.
Benefits may include health, dental, and life insurance; teachers retirement or optional retirement plan; vacation time, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays.
Full‑time employees with six months tenure may be considered for Tuition Assistance Program.
