Children's Ministry Director

Position Summary
Provide leadership for a Christ-centered, Bible-based children’s ministry (nursery through 6th grade) that partners with parents to disciple the next generation. This role focuses on creating safe, engaging environments where children experience gospel-centered teaching and meaningful relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and communicate a clear vision and discipleship strategy that aligns with the mission of Sagamore Baptist Church and the call to fulfill the Great Commission.
Recruit, train, schedule, and support a team of volunteers to cultivate a welcoming, nurturing, and discipleship-focused environment.
Maintain and enforce safety policies and consistent classroom procedures across all children’s ministry areas.
Plan and oversee weekly programming as well as seasonal events such as camps, Vacation Bible School (VBS), missions opportunities, fellowship gatherings, and outreach initiatives.
Build strong relationships with parents by providing communication, resources, and encouragement for discipleship at home, along with pastoral care and support when needed.
Qualifications
A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated through Christ-like character and a heart for servant leadership.
A clear calling to children’s ministry, with the ability to effectively teach and communicate with both children and parents.
Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate well with church staff and volunteers.
Bachelor’s degree preferred; prior experience in children’s or family ministry strongly preferred.
