Position Summary
The
Marketing Communications Specialist
plays a key role in advancing PAMED’s communications strategy by delivering cohesive, engaging messages across multiple platforms. This position is responsible for writing and coordinating marketing content for email campaigns, print materials, press releases, presentations, and talking points. Additionally, the role supports the organization’s media relations efforts, including drafting press releases and coordinating with media outlets to ensure member-facing communications reflect PAMED’s values, voice, and strategic goals. Working closely with the Director of Communications, this position helps shape how the organization informs, inspires, and connects with its members.
Essential Duties
Develop and schedule member-facing email campaigns
Write and edit email content, manage lists, and track performance metrics
Create and manage print collateral including brochures, flyers, and mailers
Liaise with print vendors to ensure timely and cost‑effective production
Write copy for print pieces, digital ads, emails, and assist with social media posts
Assist with content planning and scheduling
Coordinate logistics and promotional materials for member webinars
Assist in developing PowerPoint presentation decks and talking points for leadership
Assist in ensuring brand consistency and clarity across all materials
Contribute as a team member in creative brainstorming processes for projects
Facilitate subject matter procurement for projects, when applicable
Assist in identifying story opportunities for members and media pitches
Draft, edit and distribute press releases, media advisories, and PAMED statements
Coordinate responses to media inquiries and support leadership with talking points and background materials
Help monitor media coverage
Proofread and edit communications
Track campaigns, monitor analytics, and provide post‑mortem reporting detailing successes and needed improvements
Actively assess and improve contributions to company culture by practicing advocacy, encouraging and respecting individuals’ ideas and experiences, elevating colleagues’ confidence to bring their whole and best selves to work, and navigating all communication based in active listening and thoughtful dialogue
Additional Duties May Include Assist with coordination of other Communications and PAMED initiatives, as well as other duties that may be requested or assigned.

Operation of a motor vehicle occasionally
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
2–4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or content development
Experience working in a member‑based organization, nonprofit, or association setting is a plus
Proficiency in email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar)
Familiarity with social media management tools
Basic graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools
Basic video editing a plus
Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially PowerPoint and Word
Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail
Experience with media relations
Ability to craft a clear, compelling press release
Familiarity with media monitoring tools
Ability to tailor messaging for different audiences and platforms
Comfortable creating both short‑form and long‑form content across print and digital media
Strong organizational and time‑management skills; able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
Experience working with external vendors (e.g., printers, designers)
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across teams
Creative thinker with a proactive approach to problem‑solving
Member‑focused and mission‑driven
Flexible, adaptable, and eager to learn new tools and strategies
Special Requirements This position requires the ability to communicate and work cooperatively with many different people internally and externally, and the ability to adjust to constant change. Attendance at the annual House of Delegates meeting over a weekend is required.
