About this Role The Assistant Director, Edwardson Social Entrepreneurship Program (ESEP) is responsible for managing the planning and execution of multiple programs and activities within the Rustandy Center’s social entrepreneurship domains. This includes overseeing event execution, program administration, research, and stakeholder engagement for the John Edwardson, ’72, Social New Venture Challenge competition and the Tarrson Social Venture Fellows program. The role also entails engaging with faculty commercialization and other new and existing programs. The position is based at the Hyde Park campus, with occasional events and meetings in downtown Chicago, primarily around the Gleacher Center campus.
Responsibilities
Provide program administration and execution support for the suite of social entrepreneurship programs within ESEP.
Administer the John Edwardson, ’72, Social New Venture Challenge (SNVC) program and support social venture creation.
Manage and execute events associated with key milestones such as anniversaries and ad-hoc events.
Assist with continued venture support programs for students and alumni.
Manage the planning, application process, and execution of the Tarrson Social Venture Fellows program.
Manage relationships with select Entrepreneurs-in-Residence and support their office hours with students.
Assist with the Rustandy Center’s faculty commercialization program to support UChicago faculty.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
A minimum of two years’ experience in program or project management, event execution, and/or business administration.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, and MS Office.
Willingness to learn and gain comfort with new software, including Airtable or other CRM software.
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving skills and capable of working with frequent interruptions and concurrent deadlines.
