
Parts Specialist

The Parts Specialist is responsible for the efficient organization, accuracy, and overall performance of the parts department. This role ensures that high-volume items are replenished routinely; inventory is well maintained, and daily operations support both internal teams and outbound logistics. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and driving continuous improvement within a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities Order Fulfillment, Shipping & Receiving Support
Pick small-parts orders accurately and deliver them to the logistics/shipping department.
Ensure all the parts orders are processed and staged
well before carrier arrival times
each day.
Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels of
parts-specific shipping supplies
(boxes, bags, labels, protective materials).
Inventory Management & Organization
Monitor stock levels, perform
daily cycle counts
to maintain inventory accuracy.
Manage the receipt and storage of incoming goods and ensure accurate order fulfillment. Implement inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies.
Ensure replenishment is completed promptly for all high-volume and critical-use items.
Oversee the condition and organization of
back stock parts , ensuring they are stored properly and remain in good condition.
Assess obsolete or slow-moving parts and recommend disposition actions (scrap, return, repurpose, liquidation).
Create, print, and apply
barcodes
for parts, cartons, and storage locations.
Clean, organize, and maintain the parts department for optimal accessibility and workflow.
Receiving & Put-Away
Receive incoming parts shipments, verify quantities and accuracy, and process receipts in the system.
Put away new inventory promptly and accurately to maintain system integrity and department organization.
Warehouse Collaboration
Support broader warehouse operations when workload demands and time permits (e.g., picking, packing, loading, general labor).
Work cross-functionally with purchasing, logistics, and warehouse teams to resolve inventory discrepancies or process bottlenecks.
Safety Compliance: Enforce safety regulations and protocols, conduct regular safety inspections, and maintain accurate records of incidents to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in parts management, inventory control, or warehouse operations.
Strong organizational and housekeeping skills.
Proficiency with barcode systems, inventory software, and basic computer applications.
Ability to lift, move, and handle parts as required (typically 30–50 lbs).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to recommend process improvements.
Success Indicators
