INTAKE SPECIALIST
MIAMI, FL | Full-Time | $18/hr
Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
Position Overview We are seeking a compassionate and detail‑oriented Intake Specialist to support individuals and families navigating essential community and government resources. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high‑volume call environment, demonstrates strong listening skills, and is comfortable handling sensitive or urgent situations with professionalism and empathy.
This position plays a critical role in connecting participants to the right services while ensuring accurate documentation and follow‑through.
Key Responsibilities
Perform 10-12 eligibility/intake assessment calls per day from individuals seeking assistance
Provide accurate information, guidance, and referrals to appropriate services and programs
Assist participants with navigating community, government, and social service resources
Professionally de‑escalate challenging or emotional situations while maintaining composure
Document all interactions thoroughly and accurately in internal systems
Verify demographic and eligibility information as required
Maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational policies and procedures
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
2+ years of experience within Human Services, Social Services, or a Nonprofit Organization required
Bilingual required: English/Spanish or English/Creole
Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
Ability to manage sensitive conversations with empathy and professionalism
Proficiency in data entry and case documentation systems
Reliable transportation and ability to work onsite in Miami at least 3 days per week
Work Environment
