WIS offers this exclusive, paid newsroom internship each semester, honoring one of our most notable alumni, NBC TODAY anchor Craig Melvin, who began his journalism career in our Columbia newsroom. This opportunity places you inside the same award‑winning environment that helped launch Craig’s trajectory from WIS intern to NBC network anchor. We’re seeking an intern with Craig’s energy, enthusiasm, and drive. If you’re passionate about informing and serving your community, this internship is your chance to take a meaningful step toward a career in journalism with WIS and Gray Media. Internship Program:
As a paid intern, you will not simply observe; you will work as a valued member of our newsroom team. The program is an immersive experience where you collaborate with award‑winning teams and receive guidance directly from Craig Melvin, who will generously share his time and insight. Gray Television offers an unprecedented learning environment across 113 stations nationwide. Whether your interest involves news, production, sales, marketing, or engineering, you will learn from seasoned professionals and gain hands‑on experience that can open doors to a full‑time career with Gray Television. Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a college or university (preferred Junior or Senior) Strong work ethic and organizational skills Earned or pursuing a degree in Journalism or related fields, with a desire to gain hands‑on experience in a local media newsroom WIS‑TV/Gray Media is a drug‑free company.
