Position Title Associate Director of Social Media Strategy Department & Division Athletics (Adm), Division: Athletics Employment Type Permanent – Full-time Work Schedule 40 hours per week, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday‑Friday with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed. Salary $37,978 – $52,220 annually (anticipated hiring range $37,978 – $47,473) Primary Purpose The Associate Director for Social Media Strategy reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Fan Engagement. The incumbent develops, oversees, and maintains all social media channels for Charlotte’s 19 Division I athletics teams and the Charlotte 49ers’ primary social media presence, advancing the Athletics brand through integrated digital strategy. Minimum Education / Experience Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). All degrees must come from appropriately accredited institutions. Preferred experience working in professional or university‑level social media campaigns or sports programs. Essential Job Duties Provide an integrated strategy to advance Charlotte’s Athletics brand through social media. Assist in the creation, implementation, and monitoring of strategic marketing campaigns via social media to increase brand awareness. Collaborate closely with the Assistant Director of Marketing, Director of Creative Video, and Creative Services Director to produce content aimed at enhancing recruiting, fan engagement, and elevating the Niner brand. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director of Strategic Communications. Adhere to NCAA compliance regulations, Conference Affiliation, and University policies. Preferred Experience, Skills, & Education Knowledge and experience with social media platforms and content creation. Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and desktop publishing. Ability to work evenings and weekends. Professionalism, integrity, accountability, and a commitment to customer service.
