Key Account Manager - Soft Home

Position is in office 4 days per week in NYC. Must have Soft Home experience.


We are a major Soft Home and apparel company that does over $500M in global revenue. The company sells to every channel all over the world. We are headquarters in NYC. We specialize in direct import private label and sell both licensed and store brands. This role is for the Soft Home division. The Key Account Manager must be experienced in soft home sales (top of bed, throws, pillows, etc.) and must have experience selling to major Club retailers (ex. Sam’s, Costco, BJ’s, etc.). The Key Account Manager must have active relationships with Buyers in the channel. By utilizing the company’s design and manufacturing capabilities, they must consistently create programs to penetrate and develop business with major retailers. Must be able to be hands on with all aspects of Key Account sales and work closely with Merchandising and PD to grow the business.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Open up new distribution channels for the company while increasing business with designated existing accounts. Hands on selling to all major accounts while opening up new distribution channels at the same time.
  • Partner with product development as it relates to new products for key customers.
  • Work cross functionally across the organization to make sure all key accounts get what they need and the internal team is updated on everything.
  • Manage your business entrepreneurially and with an understanding of the company’s resources.
  • Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes, as well as develop and achieve key KPI’s for continued company growth.
  • Develop a strategy for each retailer that leads to effective product development and successful sales programs for each retailer.
  • Scale sales in the top of bed and related categories.
  • Requirements:

    • Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in soft home expertise (comforters, quilts, duvets, throws, blankets, dec pillows, etc.) is a must have for this role.
    • Experience selling to and have prior relationships with major Club retailers is a “must have” for this position.
    • Demonstrated track record increasing top-line revenue, growth and improving margins.
    • Documented track-record of experience scaling key account brick & mortar, and Omni channel retailers.
    • Experience working for a company with Private Label, Direct Imports and Asian manufacturing.
    • Deep experience in and passion for scaling wholesale businesses. Maintains a sense of urgency and initiative while balancing priorities to ensure quality, timely and profitable results.
    • Must be based in the NYC Metro are and have the ability to travel to the NYC office at least four days a week.
    • Bachelor’s Degree or work equivalent.
