We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Carrier Sales Representative to join a growing logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with freight carriers, securing transportation capacity, negotiating competitive rates, and ensuring the timely and reliable movement of freight.
As a key member of the team, you’ll collaborate closely with operations, sales, and customer service to deliver seamless logistics solutions. This role plays an important part in strengthening carrier partnerships while continuously improving service performance.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Build and maintain long-term, strategic relationships with new and existing carrier partners. Understand carrier capabilities, preferences, and service offerings to align with shipping needs. Secure reliable capacity to support ongoing and future transportation demands. Proactively source and onboard new carriers to grow and diversify the network. Manage daily load coverage, including time-sensitive and specialized shipments. Negotiate competitive pricing and service terms while maintaining profitability. Monitor market trends and adjust pricing strategies accordingly. Stay up to date with freight industry trends, rate fluctuations, and capacity availability. Partner with internal teams to ensure execution aligns with expectations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in internal systems and platforms. Provide exceptional service by managing issues, delays, and carrier communications. Act as the liaison between carriers and stakeholders to ensure smooth interactions. Identify and resolve transportation and service issues quickly and effectively. Implement solutions to minimize disruptions and optimize performance. Track and report on key performance metrics such as coverage, margin, and on-time delivery.
