They are hiring a Director of Corporate Accounting and looking for someone who enjoys a team-oriented atmosphere where there is plenty of opportunity to make an impact.
Due to a recent acquisition, they are now a global company approaching $3 Billion in annual revenue. Backed by private equity, they continue to grow through acquisition and organic expansion. This role offers visibility to senior management and a great chance for advancement. There will be project/ad hoc work in addition to the more traditional duties to include M&A, process automation, process improvement, and technology implementation.
Lead the operational accounting workstream for the greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation, acting as the primary voice for the General Ledger design and global process standardization. Oversee the design, implementation, governance, and optimization of SAP S4/Hana Finance modules, including GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Cost Center Accounting, and Profitability Analysis, ensuring alignment with business strategy, scalability, and compliance. Direct core controllership functions, including financial close, accounting operations, account reconciliations, journal entry governance, variance analysis, and financial reporting accuracy. Compile and analyze financial data to create and record month-end accruals and closing journal entries, managing the complexity of consolidating data from four distinct sources. Ensure the timely completion of account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner, particularly focusing on inter-system variances. Design, document, and enforce standard operating procedures, ensuring adherence to US GAAP and SOX compliance, and meet the rigorous internal control standards required for a public company. Design and execute a strategy to ensure strict SOX compliance for each of the four legacy ERPs during the transition period, documenting controls and mitigating risks unique to each system. Preparation of supporting documentation for audits and resolving questions from external auditors, serving as the primary lead for internal control testing across the fragmented systems landscape. Identify and implement new FinTech tools that integrate with the ERPs to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process. Leverage AI and machine learning to drive process improvement and optimization, creating efficiencies to strengthen controls and reduce manual workload. Translate complex SAP data into actionable insights for leadership through the use of accelerators, dashboards, and KPIs. Lead and develop a high-performing team of SAP Finance SMEs, accountants, and process owners. Build organizational capability through training, knowledge-sharing, and development of SAP Finance competencies across the enterprise. Manage ad-hoc reporting and special projects as directed by management.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting CPA license 10+ years of corporate accounting, external financial reporting, financial controls, or auditing experience 2 + years of public accounting, prefer Big 4 experience Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP is required; experience with SEC rules and regulations is highly preferred Extensive SAP experience required, implementation experience with SAP highly preferred, but not required Ability to react to changes quickly and work effectively in high-pressure situations, managing multiple projects at a time Strong organizational skills are required to coordinate and manage work processes and projects Excellent written and verbal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships. This role will require the preparation of technical accounting memorandums and the ability to clearly articulate the accounting to others.
