A privately held, multi-location organization is seeking a

Director of Human Resources

to serve as a key member of the leadership team. This individual will lead both the

strategic direction and hands-on execution

of HR initiatives across a growing, operationally driven business. This is a highly visible role partnering directly with executive leadership, supporting a distributed workforce, and helping scale the organization through growth and operational expansion.

Key Responsibilities Design and implement programs to attract, develop, and retain high-performing talent, including succession planning, onboarding, training, and leadership development. Lead recruiting strategy in a competitive labor market; forecast workforce needs and execute hiring initiatives aligned with business growth. Support organizational growth initiatives, including integration of new team members and evolving workforce structures. Coach and advise leaders on employee relations, performance management, and organizational effectiveness. Partner with executive leadership on benefits strategy, including healthcare planning, renewals, and cost optimization. Serve as a trusted advisor on complex employee relations matters, including sensitive and high-impact situations. Participate in strategic planning and executive meetings, providing insight on human capital strategy. Lead and develop a lean HR team while remaining hands-on in day-to-day HR operations. Evaluate and enhance performance management systems to align with business objectives. Ensure compensation and benefits programs remain competitive and aligned with market trends. Oversee HR policies and programs including leave management, compliance, and employee development initiatives. Manage unemployment claims and hearings as needed. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws. Maintain and optimize HRIS and payroll processes.

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required. 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience. Experience in a multi-site or operational environment; manufacturing or similar industry exposure is a plus. HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred. Demonstrated success leading HR teams and partnering with executive leadership.

Proven leadership, communication, and change management capabilities. Experience in talent development, employee engagement, and compliance. High level of integrity and ability to manage confidential information. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Willingness to travel (approximately 10–25%) to support multiple locations.
