Senior Product Designer

Responsibilities
You'll be the second product designer at Vitalize, joining our founding designer to scale how we design, build, and ship product.
Own complex product surfaces: design data‑dense interfaces such as shift schedules, staffing dashboards, configuration tools, and recommendation systems, simplifying workflows and flattening learning curves.
Build the design system alongside the founding designer: develop reusable components, establish color and spacing standards, create patterns that enable engineers to build correctly without waiting for design.
Work directly with customers: visit hospitals, observe nurses and staffing offices, use real workflows to shape what we build.
Partner closely with engineering: collaborate through the build, make tradeoffs together, and ensure quality in production releases.
Qualifications
6+ years of product design experience, ideally on complex, workflow‑heavy B2B SaaS products; have shipped real features and can discuss business impact.
Strong product instincts: rethink problems from first principles, challenge information architecture when interfaces are crowded.
Opinionated and direct: form points of view quickly, back them with evidence, and push back when necessary.
Design systems experience: built or contributed to component libraries, token systems, or pattern documentation; understand how design infrastructure scales for engineering velocity.
Customer‑obsessed: performed field research, observed users in their work environment, and used that context to shape designs.
Experience in healthcare, logistics, or similarly complex operational domains is a plus, but not required.
