PRIMARY PURPOSE

Provides coaching and support to classroom teachers to ensure the continuous development of instructional skills among assigned teachers. QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification(s)/License(s): Master’s degree from accredited university Valid Kansas professional license as required for the position Valid Kansas driver’s license Special Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation Ability to interpret data and evaluate instruction programs and teaching effectiveness Ability to develop and deliver training to adult learners Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Experience: 5 years teaching experience in subject area assigned (preferred) ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Duties and Responsibilities Duties/Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with assigned classroom teachers to establish realistic and measurable objectives related to both the teacher’s individual professional development and student learning. Support the continuous professional growth and improvement of teacher instructional skills through coaching and collaborative problem solving. Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and coaching to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation. Demonstrate teaching strategies with students in classroom. Assess teacher effectiveness in accordance with established district programs. Plan and provide appropriate staff development for teachers, administrators, and staff. Work with teachers to analyze and interpret student data and use findings to develop and apply instructional strategies. Develop curricular or behavioral support materials as needed. Disseminate information regarding current research and significant developments on the state and national levels in area assigned. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Other duties as assigned. Mental Demands/Physical Requirement/Environmental Conditions:

Requires the ability to maintain emotional control while under stress and in stressful situations. Requires the ability to frequently work prolonged and irregular hours. Requires the ability to frequently sit and stand for prolonged periods of time. Requires the ability to use standard office equipment including computer and peripherals and other instructional equipment for prolonged periods of time. Requires the ability to frequently use repetitive hand motions, including frequent keyboarding and mouse use. Requires the ability to occasionally bend/stoop, push/pull, twist, or reach. Requires the ability to occasionally lift and carry items 20 lbs. or less. Requires the ability to work and concentrate in noisy and crowded environments. Requires the ability to work with frequent interruptions. Requires frequent travel within the district. Requires timeliness and regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
