Marketing Intern – Special Events and Promotions Reports to: Marketing & Sales Director and Marketing Manager

Department: Marketing

Pay Rate: $19.50 per hour

Position Summary: All Marketing Interns will support the execution of marketing, sales and event initiatives within a live entertainment, theme & water park environment. While each role has a primary concentration, interns will also be expected to collaborate across teams and assist where needed. This internship provides hands‑on experience in Marketing with an emphasis on event planning and promotions. Interns will support the development, coordination and execution of park events and activations, while gaining exposure to broader Marketing & Group Sales initiatives and park operations.

Shared Responsibilities

Support the planning and execution of all marketing and sales initiatives

Provide on‑site support for events, promotions and brand activations

Deliver excellent guest service via email, phone and in‑person by responding to guest questions, comments and concerns

Maintain awareness of park offerings, ticket products, operating schedules and special events to ensure accurate guest‑facing communication

Collaborate with cross‑departmental teams including Operations, Revenue, Maintenance, Park Leadership and more

Maintain a clean, safe and professional work environment

Perform other duties as assigned

Specific Responsibilities

Contribute to the planning, promotion and coordination of the park’s special events, festivals and activations

Collaborate with internal teams including Group Sales, Food & Beverage, Operations, Entertainment and Guest Services to align on event details and plans

Assist in developing planning documents, event briefs and communication memos

Support the promotion of events across social media, email and website channels, including coordinating content needs and messaging

Create and organize event materials and signage in advance, ensuring accuracy, brand consistency and readiness for event days

Help manage timelines, vendor coordination and day‑of logistics

Assist with set‑up, on‑site support and tear‑down of events and activations

Capture real‑time content during events, including photo and video, for use across social media and future marketing campaigns

Compile post‑event recaps, including feedback, performance insights and key takeaways to inform future planning

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising or a related field of study; or in the process of earning a bachelor's degree in a related area of study

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Familiar with Microsoft Office programs, major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and TikTok) and Canva or other basic design tools

Ability to work in fast‑paced, guest‑facing environments

Able to work independently and with a team

Must possess strong oral and written English skills and must be able to communicate with guests and other team members effectively

May be required to work in various weather conditions

Available holidays and weekends

Available to work overtime and have flexible work hours

Basic Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old

Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams

Ability to adapt, think on your feet and problem‑solve in fast‑paced, dynamic environments

Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Interest in event planning, hospitality, marketing or experiential activations

Physical Demands

Requires occasional standing, kneeling and bending. Must be able to sit up for up to eight hours a shift

Requires occasional walking, reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling

Requires occasional lifts and carries up to 30 pounds and on occasion carry up to 100 pounds with the assistance of a two‑wheel hand truck

Requires manual and bi‑manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing, and speech

Possess normal or average corrected hearing (defined as 25 decibels or better in the frequency range of 500 Hz–4000 Hz considered normal speech frequency range). If a corrective device is needed to achieve this range, it must be worn while on duty
