This role ensures that insights from relevant clinical experts and scientific stakeholders are integrated into clinical development programs, regulatory strategies and trials execution. By driving high-quality interactions, the Strategic Expert Engagement Lead transforms expert engagement into a scientific asset that informs decisions, strengthens evidence generation, and advances the clinical value of Almirall’s pipeline.**CORE RESPONSIBILITIES**The Strategic Expert Engagement Lead provides strategic and operational leadership for the planning, coordination, and impact assessment of global expert engagement activities in Clinical Development. This role serves as the bridge between external experts and internal R&D and Clinical Development teams to ensure unified scientific exchange, optimized project decision-making, and a long-term partnership model aligned with Almirall’s development priorities.**Strategic Leadership*** Develop disease‐area expert engagement plans aligned with pipeline priorities and clinical development strategies.* Define project‐specific KOL engagement strategies in close collaboration with the Global Clinical Project Lead (GCPL).* Build and maintain advanced expert segmentation models (e.g., expertise vs. clinical needs, influence mapping, strategic relevance).* Drive a forward-looking engagement vision that elevates external insights as a strategic pillar of clinical development.**Operational Management*** Coordinate and facilitate scientific interactions with experts based on project needs, including:

+ Study design and protocol concept

+ High-level clinical development plan

+ Clinical input for regulatory interactions

+ Recruitment strategy discussions

+ Scientific expert engagements, steering committees, monitoring boards* Maintain periodic and structured engagement with experts to provide project and study updates (in alignment with the GCPL) and updates on Almirall pipeline.* Act as the central point of contact for internal R&D stakeholders to ensure coordination,

consistency and compliant engagement practices.* Consolidate insights and ensure they are translated into actionable recommendations for development teams.* Define and track KPIs to measure the scientific and clinical impact of expert engagement activities.**Innovation and Improvement*** Introduce innovative approaches to expert identification, segmentation, and engagement planning.* Stay informed on evolving engagement best practices across the industry, digital tools, and novel expert mapping technologies.* Continuously refine processes to enhance quality, impact, and operational efficiency in expert engagement activities.* Promote a culture of excellence, scientific rigor, and continuous improvement in all interactions with external stakeholders.**Team Leadership & Development*** Partner closely with cross‐functional teams within Clinical Development and R&D, including Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Operations.* Build strong, long‐term relationships with strategic experts and represent Almirall in scientific forums and interactions with global experts, thought leaders, and advisory bodies.* Provide scientific and strategic guidance to internal teams on expert engagement best practices.* Mentor and provide guidance and quality oversight to Expert Engagement Manager to achieve expert engagement objectives and milestones.* Ensure effective coordination with Global, regional and local Medical Affairs teams (i.e. MSLs) to align engagement priorities and shared scientific goals.**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:*** Education: Advanced degree in Life Sciences (MD, PharmD, PhD, MSc, BSc or equivalent) required.* Minimum 7–10 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or R&D roles within the biopharmaceutical industry.* Proven experience in global KOL engagement strategy, strategic planning, or expert partnership development.* Strong understanding of clinical development processes, evidence generation needs, and regulatory-scientific interactions.**COMPETENCIES:*** Excellent leadership and project‐management skills with the ability to coordinate complex, cross-functional initiatives.* Strong scientific communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments and geographies.* Strategic thinking and analytical capabilities to interpret scientific data and translate expert insights into actionable plans.* Deep understanding of the drug development lifecycle, external scientific environment, and expert engagement standards.* Visionary thinking with the ability to shape and elevate expert engagement as a strategic asset.* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with scientific leaders and internal partners.* High adaptability and comfort working in dynamic, fast‐paced, and matrixed environments.* Recognized for scientific excellence, strategic mindset, and collaborative leadership.* Proactive, solution‐oriented, and capable of driving initiatives with clarity and purpose. #J-18808-Ljbffr
