Content Marketing Manager
Rockstar, San Francisco, CA, United States
Rockstar is recruiting for an innovative AI company that has developed the first agentic AI platform for enterprise accounting, purpose‑built to deliver SOX‑compliant, real‑time close. The founders have experience coming from both sides of the problem: from overseeing finance organizations at major tech companies to building month‑end close systems at industry leaders. The company recently raised $41M in seed and series A funding from top‑tier investors and is backed by finance leaders from prominent technology firms.
The Role The company is hiring a Content Marketing Manager to build its content function from zero and scale it into a durable growth engine. This is a hands‑on, builder‑operator role. The candidate will set the strategy, do the writing, build the system behind it, and measure what matters. The company is looking for someone who can combine editorial judgment, SEO depth, AI‑native execution, and strong operator instincts.
The audience is controllers and senior accounting leaders at mid‑market and enterprise companies. They are pressed for time, allergic to hype, responsible for some of the highest‑stakes workflows in the business, and as such, the content strategy and production must reflect that.
What you'll do
Own the content engine across formats and channels: long‑form blog posts, thought leadership articles, ebooks, whitepapers, SEO guides, landing pages, newsletters
Build SEO strategy end to end, including site architecture, crawlability, schema, internal linking, keyword research, long‑tail ranking, backlink acquisition, and LLM‑friendly formatting
Monitor and improve the company's visibility across AI answer engines including ChatGPT, Claude, and Google AI Overviews
Comfort writing about complex topics and workflows for a senior enterprise audience in a clear, authoritative, credible way
Build a repeatable content production system with strong briefs, editorial workflows, repurposing pipelines, and distribution processes
Own the company newsletter, including strategy, writing, cadence, and growth
Test new formats and channels including video, and interactive tools with a bias toward fast experimentation
Partner closely with demand generation and product marketing to ensure content supports pipeline across campaigns

Strong ownership of SEO and a track record of driving organic growth
Exceptional writer with strong editorial judgment and clarity of thought
Comfortable setting strategy and executing independently
Deep understanding of SEO fundamentals (technical, on‑page, and off‑page)
Working knowledge of how AI answer engines surface and cite content
AI‑native in your workflow (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.)
Able to build systems and use AI as a force multiplier without losing voice
High velocity and strong judgment — you ship, learn, and iterate quickly
Organized and self‑directed in an early‑stage environment
Must-haves
Experience at an early‑ to growth‑stage startup (not just executing against an established playbook)
Experience building content strategy, roadmaps, and editorial systems
Strong understanding of content distribution, repurposing, and social
High quality bar and strong taste level
Experience using modern tools and AI for content creation
Strong plus
Background in accounting, finance, fintech, or close‑adjacent software

Experience with Framer, Ahrefs, HubSpot, or similar tools
Experience growing a B2B newsletter
Experience running integrated content campaigns
Experience with video content

The team is building the opposite: clear, high‑signal content that senior accounting leaders actually respect. This role will define how the company shows up in the market and build a content engine that compounds.
