SY 25-26 Senior Director of Maintenance Trades Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, Office of Operations & Facilities, Savannah, Georgia.

Job Overview Provides leadership and technical oversight for all skilled trades across the district, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Ensures the reliability, safety, and long‑term performance of building systems through preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, asset lifecycle management, hazardous materials risk assessment, and contractor oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Systems Leadership: Direct skilled trades to ensure reliability and performance of building systems; establish and enforce technical standards for maintenance, repair, and system replacement.

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Lead the development and execution of maintenance strategies for all major systems; ensure alignment of maintenance practices with long‑term asset performance goals.

Asset Lifecycle Management: Oversee lifecycle planning for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related infrastructure; partner with Capital Programs to align maintenance strategies with long‑term facility plans.

Contractor & Vendor Oversight: Develop and manage service contracts for technical systems; ensure vendor performance, compliance, and accountability.

Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all regulatory inspections and requirements (fire marshal, boiler, elevator, IAQ, etc.); oversee technical risk mitigation related to building systems.

Cross‑Functional Integration: Collaborate with Maintenance Operations Senior Director to align technical execution with service delivery systems; partner with internal stakeholders on system integration and infrastructure planning.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.

Experience: Minimum 10 years of skilled trades leadership; demonstrated expertise in building systems and maintenance programs.

Preferred: Experience in K‑12 or public sector facilities; familiarity with building automation systems (BAS/EMS) at an oversight level.

Compensation Salary: $97,115 to $168,429 per year. Position type: Full‑time.
