YMCA of Greater Nashua, Nashua, NH, United States
FULL TIME, EXEMPT POSITION; YMCA OF GREATER NASHUA; Westwood Park YMCA
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Wellness, the Director of Wellness leads the health and wellness experience at the Westwood Park branch — overseeing personal training, small group training, athlete programming, and wellness floor operations while building a team and culture that helps every member set goals, find community, and thrive.
The Director of Wellness builds upon distinctive athletic culture at Westwood Park — establishing a sports performance program that serves athletes of all ages alongside the broader membership community — while ensuring that every touchpoint reflects the Y’s mission of building healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: LEADERSHIP & CULTURE
Model servant leadership in every interaction with trainers, branch staff, and members.
Establish and maintain high standards of hospitality, professionalism, and service across the wellness floor and all training areas.
Build meaningful relationships with members beyond the training floor, supporting a sense of belonging and community at the branch.
Using Listen First skills, create an environment that encourages members to get involved in programs, volunteerism, and philanthropy — helping them become advocates for the Y’s cause.
Collaborate with the Group Exercise Coordinator to ensure a robust schedule of free group exercise offerings — guided by class attendance, member feedback, and industry trends.
OPERATIONS & STRATEGY
Implement and execute all operational standard operating procedures (SOPs) including administrative duties, client outreach, CRM documentation, and staff accountability.
Develop and manage the department budget; demonstrate sound fiscal management and program financial oversight.
Maintain wellness equipment and facilities — ensuring cleanliness, safety, and readiness for member use and minimizing risk.
Work with the Westwood Park Leadership Team to develop, implement, and manage operating plans that promote programs and membership growth.
Partner with the marketing and communications department to ensure effective promotion and visibility of all program areas.
Work closely with the Director of Healthy Living to ensure proper support for chronic disease prevention and medically integrated wellness programming.
This role is designed as an in‑person position to support team collaboration, member engagement, and community presence.

Nurture deepening connections and involvement, helping members find meaningful activities that help them learn, grow, and thrive.
Champion the member experience by actively seeking feedback and identifying opportunities to improve service delivery.
Work with local businesses, sports teams, and community groups to improve the health of the greater Nashua community.
