Sports Director

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Sports Director develops, organizes, and implements high-quality sports leagues and programs for youth and adults. The Sports Director will be responsible for cultivating partnerships with community organizations that will benefit program participant experiences through collaboration. The Sports Director will be an integral team player in all areas of the YMCA. Bachelor's Degree in sports or recreation related field or equivalent is preferred. One to two years related experience preferred. Fulfillment of state-specific hiring standards and completion of YMCA program specific certifications. Typical requirements within 60 days of hire include: completion of Background Check, Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, First Aid, and AED. Ability to communicate and relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Strong management and decision-making skills including the ability to influence, engage, and lead others to new levels of effectiveness and programmatic impact. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple programs simultaneously. Self-motivated, results-driven, detail-oriented, and adaptable. Proficient computer skills with experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office, program software, and social media.
