Job Description: The Procurement Team, in support of the Electrophysiology (EP) Business Unit, a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for a Director, Procurement Director. The position will be based in Irvine, California.
The EP Procurement Director is accountable to oversee the external spend in support of the J&J MedTech EP business unit including both new product development and launched products. The EP business presents in most markets globally, represents approximately $5.7+ billion in sales with projected high growth and market lead position. The spend in support of this business resides in multiple categories and sums to $700MM+ with significant year-over-year increases.
This leader is expected to provide hands‑on leadership in all aspects of global sourcing for EP, having overall responsibility for supplier selection, quality, reliability, innovation and cost. He / she will be responsible for developing relationships with key leaders across R&D, Supply Chain, and Commercial Teams to provide overall coordination, facilitation and enablement of programs that will drive best practice strategic sourcing and will leverage J&J’s position in external supplier spend.
Responsibilities:
Bring the EP business needs from both R&D and Supply chain to the category to develop the category strategy and best supplier choices for the business
Orchestrate of category/supplier management performed by the categories and oversight for the execution delivery of the strategic plan and business plan, in line with expectations put forth by EP SC, Quality, R&D and Commercial functions
Drive the engagement of the core suppliers in collaboration with Category Teams
Own the holistic Source business plan and the related long range financial plan for the EP business
Develop and implement strong business systems to establish and handle supplier partnerships & to positively contribute to the efficiency of Supply Chain
Work closely with EP Business Development and R&D to support new product pipeline development upstream and product launch and/or integration
Grow supplier reliability and value via commitments on capacity / lead times / payment terms and innovation
Conducts industry research and market surveys to stay current with best-in-class strategic sourcing practices and customer demands.
Lead and develop the EP Procurement team and its members
Support EP Credo Initiatives
The position holder will manage a direct team of 6-7 and will have the following key internal and external relationships:
Internal Relationships:
Member of the EP procurement Leadership team
EP Commercial leaders and boards (as appropriate)
External Relationships:
EP Commercial leaders and boards (as appropriate)
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA or advanced degree preferred
Experienced professional with business experience in multiple roles across a variety of functional specialties including general management, R&D, Marketing, Supply Chain or a Technical field with at least 8+ years within a Procurement environment in a senior position.
High level understanding of business operations and practices and core Procurement areas of focus (e.g. Category Management, Supplier Management, contract management, Supply Chain Integration, Business planning, Performance Management).
Strong Customer Orientation (building and maintaining strong relationships with JNJ senior Management).
Strong leadership, vision/strategy setting, communication, influencing, collaboration, talent development skills are key
Minimum of 5 year experience in people leadership, demonstrated through JNJ or similar professional environment.
Strong project and change management capabilities
Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information
Ability to continuously improve the organization
Strong Business Acumen, MedTech and specifically EP relevant industry experience preferred
Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g., businesses, Procurement LT, Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain); has "presence"
Proven track record in attracting and developing talent
Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and executing significant influencing roles.
Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment, while ensuring the organization is able to effectively and efficiently move through transitions
Able to travel frequently (30% or less)

The anticipated base pay range for this position is : $150,000.00 - $258,750.00

This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
Vacation – 120 hours per calendar year
Sick time – 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado – 48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – 56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – 13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time – up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period; 10 days
