
Remote Customer Service Representative

We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Customer Service Intake Specialist to join our remote Care Center. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for healthcare providers and members, processing authorization and service inquiries while striving for first-call resolution. You will research eligibility, communicate case updates, and help resolve non-clinical issues while strictly safeguarding protected health information.
salary: $17.5 - $18 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 4:30 PM
education: High School
Responsibilities
Authorization Processing:
Actively listen to callers and process authorization and customer service requests efficiently.
Problem Resolution:
Act as the first point of contact for customer complaints and make non-clinical problem-resolution decisions.
Communication:
Communicate member eligibility, provider status, and appeal/denial information clearly and professionally.
Clinical Support:
Guide callers on required clinical information to reduce unnecessary transfers to clinicians.
Requirements
Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Experience:
1+ year of call center experience.
Volume:
Ability to handle 50-100 calls daily in a fast-paced environment.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with a typing speed of at least 35 WPM.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a health plan, TPA, or medical call center.
Knowledge of managed care programs (Commercial, Marketplace, Medicaid, or Medicare).
Spanish & English is a plus.
