A company is looking for a Coding Specialist (remote position).
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and interpret medical records to assign correct codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 systems Abstract necessary information from medical records to identify diagnoses and related conditions Maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate and communicate with medical staff to clarify documentation as needed
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
High School diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of work experience and education Minimum of three years of acute care, home health, physician, or ancillary coding experience Successful completion of a credentialed coding certificate program with credentials such as CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or HCS-D Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and clinical documentation improvement Familiarity with encoder technology and electronic medical record systems
