Director of Business Development U.S. Government - Remote | Washington D.C. - Mission Software
A leading mission management software company is expanding its footprint in the federal space sector and they’re looking for a Director of Business Development to lead the charge.
This role sits at the intersection of sales strategy, capture management, and relationship building with defense, intelligence, and civil space organizations. If you're passionate about delivering real impact in the space-tech ecosystem - this could be your next move.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive federal growth strategy and shape go-to-market execution
- Identify and lead capture efforts across SBIR, RFPs, and multi-agency opportunities
- Forge high-value partnerships with key government primes and agencies
- Own the full BD lifecycle, from outreach to contract
- Partner with internal teams (product, marketing, engineering) to align solutions with government needs
- Ensure compliance and performance across contracting processes
Key Requirements:
- Experience working with U.S. Government programs
- Track record of success in fast-paced startup or scale-up environments
- Knowledge of the space sector - ideally software, data, or satellite systems
- Established relationships across federal agencies and/or prime contractors
- Strong understanding of capture and proposal management processes
- Driven, adaptable, and skilled at aligning stakeholders toward shared goals
- Able to travel regularly to hubs like Denver, DC, LA, and Albuquerque.
