Director of Business Development (Technical Sales) NextGen Coding Company Location: United States (Remote) Compensation: $60 per hour + commission Engagement Type: Contract (20–40 hours per week) NextGen Coding Company is a U.S.-based software engineering firm delivering custom platforms, AI systems, automation tools, and enterprise software solutions for organizations across financial services, healthcare, compliance technology, and operational infrastructure. The company is seeking a Director of Business Development capable of owning the full sales lifecycle from lead generation through deal close and client handoff. The role requires a technically capable sales professional who can engage directly with clients, understand engineering requirements, scope projects, and generate proposals for software development and consulting engagements. The ideal candidate has experience selling custom software development, engineering consulting, staff augmentation, and technical services , and is comfortable managing both business and technical conversations with client stakeholders. Responsibilities Identify and develop new client opportunities across target industries Manage the full sales lifecycle from prospecting through deal close Run discovery calls and technical discussions with prospective clients Gather business and technical requirements from clients Work directly with internal engineering leadership to define project scope Prepare estimates, pricing, and proposals for software development engagements Close deals across custom software development, staff augmentation, recruiting, and consulting services Build and maintain relationships with founders, CTOs, and executive stakeholders Own and manage the sales pipeline and follow-up process Attend conferences, industry events, and networking opportunities to generate leads Represent NextGen Coding Company in client meetings and industry settings Coordinate smooth handoff of new projects to the delivery team after deal close Required Experience 7+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or technical consulting Experience selling software development services, consulting, or technical solutions Ability to lead both business and technical discovery conversations Experience scoping software projects and preparing pricing estimates Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills Ability to operate independently and manage multiple deals simultaneously Willingness to travel for conferences, client meetings, and industry events Ideal Candidate Profile Technical enough to discuss software architecture, platforms, and engineering requirements Comfortable translating business needs into technical scopes and proposals Strong experience closing custom software development and consulting deals Capable of managing the full sales process from the first conversation through signed agreement Organized, self-directed, and comfortable owning sales processes end-to-end Able to represent the company professionally in client and conference environments Commission Structure Deal Size — Commission $20K — $50K — 5% $50K — $150K — 7% $150K+ — 10% Commission is paid upon successful project kickoff.
