
Senior Compensation Business Partner

Job Description
WD is seeking an experienced Compensation Business Partner to join our high-performing Compensation team. Reporting to the Director of Compensation, this role requires a strong blend of business consulting acumen and deep expert knowledge in compensation. The ideal individual will play a key role on the team and be a strategic advisor to HR Business Partners and business unit leaders in providing expert guidance to drive and ensure the success of WD's compensation programs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Act as a compensation business partner and specialist advisor to HR Business Partners and business unit leaders, fostering strong relationships and delivering high-impact, proactive guidance on a wide variety of compensation matters and related activities.
Partner with HR Business Partners, business unit leaders and the Compensation Team in support of the annual Pay Planning Review Process. Support the facilitation by equipping HR Business Partners and business unit leaders with education, tools, and support to ensure effective and consistent pay decisions.
Support the implementation of all ongoing compensation programs and policies by providing proactive insights to guide decision making and continuously collaborate with HR Business Partners and business unit leaders to make sound comp decisions.
Support business transformations (e.g., reorganizations) by consulting on compensation strategy, change impact, and organizational readiness.
Serve as a thought partner to the Compensation team bringing forward business insights, field feedback, and emerging needs to shape future compensation initiatives within assigned business units.
Qualifications
Directly related compensation experience in advising and analyst roles with understanding and experience of the high technology industry supporting large global organizations.
Strong understanding of broad-based compensation programs (base/bonus/equity), pay for performance, benchmarking/market data, job evaluation, etc.
Highly responsive and customer service oriented.
Ability to establish strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic, growing environment.
Expertise in leading and managing projects along with setting project goals.
Willingness to play a 'hands‑on' role with key projects.
Expertise with analytics, Excel, PowerPoint, and Workday.

Employee compensation is based on education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, geographic location, shift, internal and external equity, and business needs.
The salary range is the range of possible compensation at time of posting and may be modified in the future; it applies to jobs performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote in those states.
If the position is non‑exempt, eligible for overtime pay pursuant to policy and law; may be eligible for shift differential.
Eligibility for bonuses under WD's Short Term Incentive Plan (STI) or the Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), and for the Long‑Term Incentive Program (LTI) consisting of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents; not all roles are eligible for LTI or equity.
