Join our Immigration Practice Group as a Business Immigration Specialist located in our Atlanta office. This role will be based in our Atlanta office, on a in‑office basis. Regular in‑office presence is required for day‑to‑day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building. This role reports to our Practice Group Manager.
Position Summary The Business Immigration Specialist position will provide organizational and practice specific support to attorneys in our highly specialized Immigration Department. Will assist the team in a wide range of business immigration matters, including preparing various immigration forms and applications. Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Mentors more junior paralegals and case coordinators, to include providing training, answering questions, and explaining team processes, as needed
Prepares petitions/applications for various immigrant visa processes (PERM, I‑140, AOS, Naturalization, etc.) and non‑immigrant visa processes (H‑1B, L, E‑1/2/3, TN, O‑1, J, etc.)
Prepares responses to request for evidence (RFE) for attorney review
Manages own caseload, processing, and distributing of essential documents
Maintains case management database, directs client contact—phone calls, emails, and postal correspondence
Maintains oversight of individual caseload
Creates and maintains reports as needed
Contacts USCIS and U.S. consulate/embassies, schedules visa appointment interviews, and assists with submission of DS‑160 applications
Assists in client intakes, prepares client mailings and submissions to various immigration offices
Liaises with government agencies (DOL, USCIS, NVC) to troubleshoot issues as necessary
Researches law, procedures and keeps track of immigration law updates
Assists with other department activities as needed, performs additional administrative duties and responsibilities as assigned

Ability to communicate professionally and interact effectively with all levels of personnel, including clients, management staff and support staff
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor and presentation
Ability to be a proactive self‑starter who understands the details within a much larger context
High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
Excellent customer service skills and ability to work on multiple matters simultaneously in an organized manner and under minimal supervision
Flexibility and able to respond quickly and positively to shifting demandsPosition also requires the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
Education & Prior Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and Paralegal certification required
Minimum of 7 years International Immigration experience within a law firm with demonstrated knowledge of complex issues within the Immigration practice area
Experience in preparing immigrant and non‑immigrant visas
Technology
Computer proficiency in Windows‑based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Familiar with immigration case management systems
Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly
