
Technician, Broadcast Operations Center

How you'll make an impact:
As a Technician in the Broadcast Operations Center (BOC), you will be responsible for the operation and technical management of the systems in the Broadcast Operations Center and ensuring proper content delivery of all Talk, Music and News channels airing on our Sirius, XM and Web platforms. The BOC Technicians will be expected to help lead and create supporting documentation for support of 5-Star Designated Jewel Events. Technicians will provide feedback and suggestions for training programs, create standard operating procedures documentation and create or update departmental workflows and drawings. What you'll do:
Work in our 24/7/365 operations centers to ensure proper delivery and support of all Talk, Music and News programming. Demonstrate the ability to work independently and triage issues with minimal oversight. Assist in the development of operations documentation ensuring all processes and procedures are detailed to integrate any new systems, components or broadcast requirements. Manage and properly elevate issues to BCC Managers. Interface with other departments such as Programming, BCC, Media Engineering, UCC. Live Studio support. Utilize checklists and workflows the BOC technicians are responsible for utilizing. Work with management to ensure consistent processes, procedures and protocols are applied across all locations to facilitate a common operating environment for all staff members. Oversee process adherence for groups involved with premiere live events. What you'll need:
0-2 years' experience in operations or master control supervision at a major market Operations Center facility or broadcast network. Experience in technical operation and an ability to interface with non-technical operators. Equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. Ability to execute Disaster Recovery (Business Continuity) Sequence of events in relation to BOC responsibilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to details. Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Ability to make quick informed decisions during times of uncertainty or last minute requests. Familiarity with broadcast automation systems. Knowledge of audio production systems and digital audio storage. Thorough understanding of digital audio routing systems. Technical knowledge of satellite, ISDN, IP CODEC, TS over IP and other transmission technologies. Familiarity with Google Office suite (Docs, Sheets, Sites, Forms, Calendar, Drive & Slides). Working knowledge of Lucid, Visio, CAD or other signal flow software is a plus. Must have legal right to work in the U.S. This position requires the use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As required by ITAR, to perform this position you must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $74,500 to $97,900 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
