Overview We are seeking an experienced Director of Property Claims to oversee operations for our standard exposure Commercial Property and Inland Marine Adjusters and Estimate Review team. This role is accountable for driving claim outcomes through data results and vendor performance, while considering the customer experience.

Responsibilities This Director will play a critical role in ensuring claim quality, cycle time efficiency, indemnity accuracy, and expense control through KPIs and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a multi-line, high volume, property claim adjusting team and estimate review team, ensuring quality control and accountability
Oversee the end‑to‑end claim lifecycle of non‑litigated property claims, including catastrophe (CAT) events, ensuring timely, accurate, compliant and customer‑focused resolution
Drive consistency in streamlined claim handling practices, comprising of reserving, coverage application, estimating and documentation
Identify trends and recommend improvements to reduce cycle time, control severity and minimize expense leakage
Monitor and manage vendor performance, confirming adherence to service, quality, and cost expectations
Partner with internal stakeholders (e.g. UW, Legal, Subrogation, Loss Control, etc.) on claim trends and business needs to support operational alignment
Provide oversight and direction on escalated claims, maintaining focus on resolution without litigation where appropriate
Qualifications Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or related field preferred
7–10+ years of property claims experience, including commercial property and/or inland marine
Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience with direct accountability for team performance and outcomes
Demonstrated experience using data and metrics to manage claim operations and managing vendor performance and expense control strategies
Professional designations (e.g. CPCU, AIC, etc.) preferred
State adjuster licenses as required
Skills & Competencies
Expert in property claim handling, coverage interpretation, estimating and claims handling tools, (e.g. Xactimate, Xactanalysis, Cotality, Vexcel, etc.)
Proficient with MS Office; Intermediate to Proficient with reporting tools like PowerBI
Strong understanding of insurance industry practices, regulatory compliance, and litigation processes
Effective leadership, coaching and performance management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Salary $110,000 - $180,000 + bonus. In accordance with applicable pay transparency laws, this range represents a good‑faith estimate. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, credentials, geographic location, and other considerations permitted by law.
