Manager Contracts and Pricing
Job Summary The Manager, Contracts and Pricing - Market Access, U.S. is responsible for the operationalization and validation/payment of payer discounts across all contracted business segments. Coupled with advanced KPI reporting, this role will inform market access and reimbursement strategies to accelerate product launches, maximize market adoption, and fully capitalize on life‑cycle management—early development through and beyond loss of exclusivity (LoE).
Key Responsibilities
Meet/exceed gross profit, gross margin, and net sales. Accountable for access and reimbursement contract forecasts, invoices, accruals, and validation through the budgeting and financial review process.
Ensure short and long‑term financial targets are achieved and aligned with corporate goals. Responsible for monthly business planning and forecasting models.
Oversee market access payer operations, financials and reporting
Manage operationalization and review of payer / PBM invoices to ensure formulary compliance, accurate price protection calculations, etc.
Assist with negotiations of contractual terms and adjust as needed based on market trends and corporate objectives to ensure profitability and compliance.
Coordinate adherence of contract terms and rebate eligibility inputs across supporting departments through a quarterly formulary review process.
Provide regular performance updates to cross‑functional partners.
Manage communication
Define plans to ensure proactive communication on all aspects of payer reimbursement and contract terms/conditions. Includes, but is not limited to, monthly KPI reporting and qualitative assessment of the rebates, routine assessment of patient mix, and understanding the impact of national healthcare regulations and policies, serving as a member of the Monthly business planning (MBP) process.
Support business development and new products
Collaborate with Business Development to conduct market access assessments and diligence of potential new M&A and licensing targets.
Support new products by defining key value drivers and go‑to‑market access strategies across a multichannel approach for a complex ecosystem of healthcare providers—HCPs, governments, health systems, and health‑care consumers.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university is required.
Five (5) or more years of overall experience in commercial biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical experience with multi‑functional experience (Market Access, Analytics, Finance, Business Development) required.
Working knowledge of U.S. payer system, reimbursement models, and RFP/bid process across managed care and governmental payers.
Strong operational skills and financial acumen; demonstrated P&L proficiency, understanding of accounting and financial modeling.
Extensive cross‑functional experience required, proven track record of collaboration and coordination with key stakeholders.
Application of rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions and advantage creativity and ingenuity to develop solutions to complex problems.
Exceptional written/verbal communication skills; proven ability to document a business case and articulate rationale to a wide range of internal and external partners.
Comprehensive analytical/strategic thinking skills and decision‑making; demonstrated ability to utilize data in fact‑based decision‑making (data to insights to action), providing solid business rationale, clear sense of structure, accountability, timelines and urgency.
Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively to all constituents, both internal and external.
Proficient in MS Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), IQVIA, MMIT/Fingertip Formulary data, etc.
Experience with outsourced services vendors (Model N, Integrichain, etc.).
About the Compensation The base salary range for this role is determined based on several factors. These include, but are not limited to, job accountabilities; skill sets; experience and training; certifications; work location; competitive market rates and other business needs. At Galderma, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on a unique combination of factors for each role. A reasonable estimate of the hiring range for this role is $115,000–$155,000 USD. In addition to base salary, we provide an opportunity to participate in an annual short‑term incentive program that is based on corporate performance with a multiplier focused on individual performance. We offer a competitive and comprehensive benefits program including health insurance, 401(k) plan with employer match, a generous paid time off policy, hybrid work schedules and more.
