Principal Product Manager, Conversational Chatbot

GEICO, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, is driving a multi‑year technology transformation to reimagine the customer experience across the policy lifecycle. We’re looking for an accomplished Principal Product Manager to lead the online and mobile experience serving millions of customers as part of our Service Consumer Experience team.

This role is hybrid, based in either the San Francisco Bay Area or Greater Washington DC Metropolitan (DMV) area.

Responsibilities

Build complex conversational AI and chatbot experiences at large scale.

Define and execute a multi‑year unified vision in close partnership with business and engineering teams.

Lead cross‑functional teams through product discovery and delivery.

Synthesize business, market, and platform data to identify opportunities, size them, and transform insights into product vision, strategy, and requirements.

Own and prioritize short‑term and long‑term product roadmap, ensuring alignment of resources for successful delivery.

Partner with UX to deliver a stellar customer experience.

Work with stakeholders to create, prioritize, and execute product roadmap for the entire policy lifecycle.

Leverage modern architecture and design to achieve problem‑solution fit.

Evaluate trade‑offs and negotiate requirements.

Create and use compelling artifacts (vision, roadmaps, features/epics, progress updates) to influence stakeholders.

Understand current and future state architecture.

Identify and measure KPIs, adjusting roadmap as data dictates.

Mentor other Product Managers and help build a high‑performing product organization.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

10+ years of product management experience building complex software and technology products at large scale.

Experience building consumer‑facing online and mobile app products with strong customer focus.

Proven ability to manage the entire product lifecycle from concept to delivery and scale.

Experience using quantitative and qualitative data to inform design decisions and drive change.

Preferred Qualifications

MBA or equivalent experience.

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as software engineering or computer science.

Experience in e‑commerce, financial services, or marketplace digital‑first companies.

Self‑starter with proven ability to operate in an ambiguous, startup‑style environment.

Salary Annual: $131,200.00 – $229,600.00
