The Role We are seeking a strategic and hands-on HR leader to build and lead the human capital function across a multi-entity organization. This role will be critical in:
Driving employee relations and culture at scale
Ensuring multi-state labor law compliance
Leading post-acquisition HR integration
Building infrastructure for growth and PE-readiness
This is not a “maintenance HR” role — this is a builder/operator role.
Key Responsibilities Employee Relations & Culture
Serve as senior escalation point for employee relations matters across all clinics
Build consistent policies, documentation standards, and investigation protocols
Partner with leadership to improve retention, engagement, and performance management
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure compliance with federal, multi-state, and Puerto Rico labor laws
Oversee policies related to FLSA, ADA, FMLA, EEOC, and wage/hour compliance
Reduce legal exposure through proactive HR practices and documentation
M&A Integration (CRITICAL)
Lead HR due diligence for acquisitions (org structure, compensation, liabilities)
Design and execute post-close integration plans:
Compensation alignment
Benefits harmonization
Culture and communication rollout
Standardize onboarding for acquired teams
Organizational Infrastructure
Build scalable HR systems (policies, SOPs, performance frameworks)
Partner with finance on headcount planning and workforce cost management
Leadership Partnership
Act as a strategic advisor to CEO / executive team
Coach clinic leaders and managers on performance management and leadership
Ideal Candidate Profile
8–15+ years of progressive HR experience
Strong background in:
Employee relations (complex cases, terminations, risk mitigation)
Labor law compliance (multi-state preferred)
M&A integration (HIGHLY preferred)
Experience in multi-site healthcare, retail healthcare, or PE-backed platforms
Builder mindset — has created HR infrastructure from scratch or scaled it
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environment
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (HR, Business, or related)
SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred
Experience supporting 100–500+ employee organizations preferred
Compensation Range
Base salary: $120K – $140K (depending on experience and M&A and Integration experience)
Bonus Structure:
10–20% performance bonus tied to:
Retention improvement
Integration success metrics
Compliance / risk reduction
Labor cost efficiency
Generous Long-term incentive cash award plan
