Paralegal - International Trade (Dupont Circle)
We are seeking a recent college graduate to work as an International Trade Paralegal for a dynamic International Trade practice in our Washington, D.C. Dupont Circle office. The practice represents foreign‑based clients and U.S. importers in trade remedy proceedings before the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. International Trade Commission, the Court of International Trade, and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The ideal candidate will commit to working at least two years at Taft and be able to complete the responsibilities listed below.
Responsibilities
Monitor filings of trade‑related actions in the U.S. agencies and abroad
Perform online and in‑person filings before U.S. government agencies and in Federal Courts
Draft and file routine applications and transmittal letters
Monitor public files at agencies and courts
Research and monitor trade‑related news and proceedings
Maintain client case files
Maintain docketing calendar
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with strong academic background
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines and effectively juggle multiple priorities
Comfortable working with numbers
Foreign language capability is an advantage, but not required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent attention to detail
Strong personal organization, work ethic, and flexibility
Ability to be proactive and take initiative
Quick learner by relating individual tasks to the “big picture”
Strong research and problem‑solving skills
Ability to multi‑task and shift priorities successfully
Strong service orientation
Ability to use good judgment and discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential matters
Ability to work overtime as needed

The salary range for this position is $70,000/yr. – $85,000/yr. Actual compensation may vary based on work experience, education, and/or skill level.
