Position Description CGI is seeking a high‑potential Senior SAP S/4HANA Functional Consultant with experience in SAP ECC or S/4HANA FI, specifically within the Asset Accounting and Cost Management modules. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to lead workshops, understand requirements, design and present solutions, configure SAP, and complete full lifecycle software implementations related to Asset Accounting and Cost Management business processes within the federal government. The primary focus will be on design, configuration, and testing in SAP S/4HANA Public Sector, with the experience and/or desire to mentor an agile team focused on FI (Asset Accounting and Cost Management). This role requires experience with SAP Federal Financial Accounting processes and solutions.
This position is located in one of CGI Federal's offices in Fairfax, VA, Lebanon, VA, Lafayette, LA or Knoxville, TN; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. You will be required to work in a CGI Federal office two days per week.
Your future duties and responsibilities
The Senior Consultant facilitates the implementation of requirements, designs solutions, and configures SAP FI Asset Accounting and Cost Management modules for the Public Sector to enhance client business functionality and performance while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Facilitate workshops to review business requirements and translate them into system requirements; identify gaps, issues, and work‑around solutions across financial management, asset management, and cost management functions.
Act as a liaison with clients for troubleshooting: investigate, analyze, and resolve software problems; map client business requirements, processes, and objectives; and develop necessary product modifications to meet client needs.
Design, configure, and test the SAP FI Asset Accounting and Cost Management modules in SAP S/4HANA.
Create Functional Design Documents (FDDs) and support the creation of Technical Design Documents (TDDs) and To‑Be process designs for SAP S/4HANA solutions.
Serve as a primary contributor to the successful implementation of SAP S/4HANA by providing functional expertise, guidance, presentations, and instruction on SAP products to clients.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Due to contract requirements, U.S. citizenship and successful completion of the CGI background check are required prior to beginning work. In addition, candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD/Public Trust clearance.
A minimum of 3–5 years of SAP consulting experience in FI/CO, specifically in Asset Accounting and Cost Management.
Knowledge of financial management best practices, including demos, test scripts, and functional/technical design documents.
Experience in configuration and implementation of SAP FI/CO.
Knowledge of key integration points between SAP modules.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and discuss strategies and technical information in a manner that builds rapport and fosters understanding among technical and non‑technical audiences.
Ability to analyze problems and provide clear recommendations.
Strong organizational skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Desired qualifications
Experience using SAP Activate methodology.
Experience with end‑to‑end SAP implementations.
SAP S/4HANA certification.
Experience integrating with SAP application areas, including FI/CO.
Compensation CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 - $194,000.00.
