
Senior Driller

Responsibilities
Perform standard penetrometer testing operations, including boring and Geoprobes.
Operate Geoprobe unit for soil and Cone Penetrometer (CPT) data collection.
Complete drilling operations by operating drill (rotary, churn, pneumatic); monitor progress; adjust bit weight and rotary speed; change bit; remove debris; set explosives; operate gasoline, diesel, electric, or stream draw works.
Locate borings in the field.
Record all required drilling data.
Report all project‑specific issues directly to the project manager or supervisor.
Perform drill rig and support truck maintenance; report repair and maintenance issues to the Drilling Supervisor.
Troubleshoot mechanical problems, including electrical or hydraulic issues.
Safely and accurately load the drill rig and support vehicle each day with required supplies.
Plan daily schedule to meet productivity goals set by the Drilling Supervisor or Office Manager.
Promptly and accurately complete timesheets and field paperwork.
Take care of and clean assigned company vehicles, drilling equipment and any other equipment.
Maintain professional behavior and quality standards.
Train and mentor drilling helpers and drillers.
Maintain a safe, healthy, and environmentally sound work environment by following organizational standards and legal regulations; prevent spills; wear personal protective equipment; store and maintain hazardous material.
Be willing to work out of town and on non‑standard schedules when required.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED.
5 – 8 years of related experience.
Class A CDL preferred.
Position requires carrying 40 – 70 lbs multiple times a day or occasionally lifting 85 lbs to waist height.
