Goodwill NYNJ is seeking an experienced Ecommerce Manager to lead and scale its ecommerce operations, maximise revenue, profitability and mission impact, and protect donated assets. The Awesome Things You’ll Do

Performance & Operations

Drive profitable ecommerce sales through strong business analysis, identifying opportunities and implementing action plans to achieve sales, profit and production goals. Deliver ecommerce revenue and profitability targets while meeting departmental KPIs and operational benchmarks. Ensure operational excellence across all ecommerce workflows including product intake, sorting and authentication, photography, listing and merchandising, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping and customer service. Implement and maintain efficient production workflows that support high listing volume, fast product turnover and accurate inventory management. Protect and maximise the value of donated goods by identifying, pricing and marketing high‑value items appropriately. Maintain strong oversight of inventory systems to ensure data accuracy, asset protection and inventory integrity. Leverage technology and automation tools to improve productivity, reduce operational costs and increase listing output and sales performance. Monitor ecommerce trends, resale markets and product demand to capture value from best‑selling categories. Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, marketplace standards and safety procedures. Maintain a clean, organised and optimised warehouse environment using 5S principles. Drive continuous operational improvements that increase efficiency, reduce waste and improve profitability. Leadership, Talent & Culture

Lead, coach and develop the ecommerce team to drive performance, accountability and professional growth. Create a culture of ownership, operational discipline and accountability tied to clear performance expectations and KPIs. Train and mentor team members on ecommerce best practices, product identification, pricing strategy and operational efficiency. Ensure strong collaboration between ecommerce and retail store teams by providing training and feedback that helps stores identify high‑value items for online sale. Support talent development, succession planning and staff engagement within the ecommerce department. Promote a positive and mission‑driven work culture that aligns with Goodwill’s values and community impact. Partner with HR and leadership to address employee relations issues and support workforce development. Strategy & Growth

Develop and execute strategies to grow ecommerce revenue and profitability while supporting the organisation’s mission. Identify new product categories, sales channels and merchandising opportunities to increase revenue. Position the ecommerce department to scale efficiently as sales volume grows. Evaluate marketplace performance and optimise strategies across platforms such as ShopGoodwill and eBay. Use data‑driven decision making to identify trends, operational improvements and revenue opportunities. Our Must Haves

Minimum 3–5 years experience in ecommerce, retail operations or resale business environments. Experience within thrift, resale, apparel, fashion, footwear or consumer goods strongly preferred. Minimum 3 years of leadership experience managing teams and operations. Experience managing a team of 20+ employees. Experience managing high‑volume retail or ecommerce production environments. Strong understanding of resale product categories, pricing strategy and online marketplace dynamics. Proven experience driving operational improvements and business growth. Leadership maturity with the ability to inspire teams, remain calm under pressure and create a collaborative environment. Strong conflict resolution and relationship management skills.
