Overview

Director of Product — Full-Time Location: New York Metropolitan Area Role

As our Director of Product, you'll own the vision and execution of our product strategy while working directly with customers, engineering, and the executive team to build the AI training solutions life sciences companies need. Key Responsibilities

Own the Product Roadmap : Set and communicate a clear, customer-driven product strategy. Translate customer feedback into prioritized features and initiatives that create real value.

Customer-Centric Product Development : Spend significant time with customers understanding their training challenges, objections, and needs. Drive the discovery process that informs what we build.

Be the Voice of the Customer : Advocate for customer needs internally. Push back thoughtfully when customer requests don't align with strategy, but be genuinely open to pivoting when the data and conversations warrant it.

Cross-Functional Leadership : Work closely with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams. You are comfortable in a lean environment where you wear multiple hats and drive alignment across functions.

Metrics and Tradeoffs : Define success metrics for features and initiatives. Make data-informed decisions about what to build, improve, or sunset.

Product Strategy in a Fast-Moving Landscape : Stay current on AI/ML developments in training and conversational AI. Understand our competitive landscape and where we can differentiate.

Hiring & Growth : As we grow, help build and mentor a product team that shares our customer-obsessed, fast-moving mentality.

What We're Looking For

Experience & Background: 4-7 years of product management or product leadership experience, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role

Proven success building B2B SaaS products, ideally in education, training, learning & development, or regulated industries

Experience with customers in life sciences, healthcare, pharma, or medical device sales/training is a major plus

Strong understanding of how enterprise software gets bought and sold in regulated industries

Mindset & Skills: Customer obsessed : You don't theorize about what customers need—you talk to them, observe them, and iterate based on feedback

Flexible and adaptable : You' 0re comfortable with ambiguity and changing direction quickly when the evidence points that way. You' 0t married to your own ideas

Hands-on and resourceful : You can define an MVP, write PRDs, and work directly with small teams without excessive process or bureaucracy

Strategic, but pragmatic : You think about long-term product vision while being comfortable making short-term tradeoffs to hit customer needs today

Communication skills : You can explain strategy simply, get buy-in across functions, and advocate clearly for difficult decisions

Technical fluency : You don’t need to code, but you should understand AI/conversational AI fundamentals and be able to have intelligent conversations with engineers about what 0s possible

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in learning & development, training tech, or EdTech

Background in life sciences, pharmaceutical sales, or medical training

Startup or hyper-growth experience

Track record of launching products that customers loved

What Success Looks Like (First Year)

You've conducted 50+ customer conversations and built genuine relationships with key accounts

You've shipped 3-5 major product releases informed directly by customer feedback

You've helped us clarify and articulate our product-market fit positioning

The team trusts you to make tough tradeoff decisions without perfectionism

You've built credibility as someone who listens, adapts, and moves fast

Work Environment

Location : Manhattan office, 4 days per week in-office (1 day remote)

Team Size : Small, lean team—expect direct collaboration with founders and all functions

Pace : Fast-moving, customer-driven—we iterate quickly and aren't attached to lengthy planning cycles

Culture : Results-oriented, no ego, collaborative problem-solving

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range : $130,000 - $170,000 (based on experience and background)

Note on salary: Range reflects startup stage and your specific background. We pay competitively for talent and experience but are transparent that seed-stage resources are finite. If you have deep domain expertise in life sciences training, we are willing to be at the higher end of the range.
